What problem do you strive to overcome?

Life can feel overwhelming when you are stuck in cycles of anxiety, self-doubt, grief, or major transitions. You may find yourself questioning your identity, battling fears that leave you feeling stuck, or struggling to manage emotions that feel too big or persistent. It is common to feel like you should be able to handle it, but nothing seems to work long-term.

I use a collaborative approach grounded in evidence-based practices to help you understand what is happening and why. I work with clients to build insight and develop practical, personalized tools so you can start making meaningful changes and not just surface-level fixes. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as my primary approach, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and mindfulness strategies to support clients through anxiety disorders, OCD, grief, cultural identity exploration, and more.

Experience:

Renata is a bilingual (English/Portuguese) Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC12124) who received her master’s degree from the University of San Diego, where she was trained in evidence-based practices with a strong emphasis on cultural responsiveness and ethical care. Her clinical experience spans a wide range of settings, including hospice, forensic, outpatient, and inpatient environments. These diverse experiences have allowed her to support clients in a way that is thoughtful, structured, and respectful of who they are and what they need.

More than just my work:

Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time in nature, traveling with my husband, and playing with my full of energy dog, Tuli. I’m passionate about creativity and find joy in design, the arts, and exploring new cultures. These interests inspire my flexible and intuitive approach to therapy and help me connect with clients from diverse backgrounds.
