Dr. Anna Arya is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 34563) who provides both telehealth and in-person psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families dealing with a wide range of mental health concerns. Her specialties include treating anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (using exposure and response prevention), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, depression, irritability, sleep disturbances, autism, and low self-esteem, among others. Dr. Anna also provides support for individuals navigating LGBTQIA+ issues, addressing the unique challenges and concerns they may face. She is dedicated to helping her clients realize their full potential by collaboratively exploring their strengths and ways to enhance their well-being. She empowers clients by providing the tools, resources, and support needed to achieve their goals. Dr. Anna is committed to demonstrating cultural humility and creating a safe, respectful environment where all clients feel heard, respected and valued.
Dr. Anna uses a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to treatment. CBT is an evidence-based modality proven effective for addressing a variety of mental health concerns and diagnoses. Dr. Anna employs CBT to help clients understand the interactions among their thoughts, feelings, physical reactions, and behaviors. She assists clients in learning coping skills, establishing healthy routines, and making the necessary changes to function optimally in any environment or situation.
Dr. Anna earned her doctoral degree from Azusa Pacific University. Her clinical training includes work with the Azusa Unified School District, in general outpatient settings, specialty autism clinics, and a community mental health center. She has experience working with clients ranging from age 4 through older adults. Dr. Anna's research interests focus on supporting youth transitioning to independent adulthood from foster care, parent-child relationships, and identifying protective factors that promote resilience.
